Volunteer Trail, Longhunter State Park, Hermitage, TN

by Margee
(Hermitage, TN)

I recently took the family and our dog hiking on the Volunteer Trail of Longhunter State Park, near Nashville, TN.
It was the first hike on a natural trail for the dog. We were able to walk to the shore where I slipped on a mossy rock and went down like a ton of bricks but the only thing hurt was my pride. The dog was a trooper, greeting everyone and having a great time.
The trail is well-used and easy to follow. It is great for families as it is an easy hike.
It was a successful trip and the first of many more, I hope.
