In addition to what everyone else has said, I also list my hike/snowshoe on iNeverSolo. It's like a flight plan. And if I don't return on time then my contacts get notified. Sort of a backup plan.For me, the solo hike is all about conquering fears, being strong, relying on myself, and my need to be alone in the world. Love it!
