Mt Assiniboine, Canada

(British Columbia)

I first did this hike in 1982 as an 11yr old with my uncle and cousins. I always wanted to return and finally this year I made it!
My hiking buddy and I spent 8 days... 3 to get into the core area and a couple days exploring then 21/2 to exit.
The route we chose required fording a river, had a rustic old cabin for one night and complete solitude. Once in the core area the stunning mountain views and glacial lakes are breathtaking.
There is a lodge and campsite so also quite a few people. Lots of area for day hikes. I recommend this Lovely area to everyone!
